Let’s try through several post,  for those starting in this world give life a little more easy and understandable of the wonderful world of the Jailbreak.

Meaning of Tethered and Untethered

The term tethered means when to do the jailbreak the device if it is only not able to start, i.e. stays with the logo of the manzanita of apple turn on the device and requires a PC or MAC to finish the boot process, so every time our device loses battery charging and restarts is required to connect to a PC or MAC and run the tool again with which do you the jailbreak to our device. Does not lose any information, configuration, applications downloaded and/or installed, simply the PC or MAC helps the device to start.

The term untethered means that when the jailbreak the device is able to boot by itself only and does not need a PC or MAC to help you withwhich s the jailbreak that interests us.

So, I know what my device if currently do you the jailbreak?

Currently the jailbreak is Untethered for all devices with the latest firmware from Apple. iOS 5.0.1

-Jailbreak Untethered iOS 5.0.1 iPhone 4s / iPad2
-Jailbreak Untethered iOS 5.0.1 iPhone 3gs / iPad

Unlock of the device and Basband.

Before you continue reading, I’m going to give advice if you have a phone you need to unlock it to use it with any carrier: NO ACTUALICES never officially the device VIA ITUNES.

This is because if you update by Itunes, probably Apple got an update to the Baseband, so you will be until that version of UltrasNow (application to unlock the iphone found in Cydia) to draw a nice Ipod :) and this is not usually something fast, it can take Looooong get this update either never come, so much care with forgetfulness and the rush.

How to update IOS without raising the baseband

An update of iOS brings many improvements and new features for our devices, but in addition, brings with it an update of the baseband, which is allowing us to use the part of the phone of our device. Using a tool like PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze we re-fabricar the original update package, to put our iPhone preventing this updating the baseband and our iPhone to stay with an old and unlockable baseband.

As is what Basband has my Iphone?
